The Jacksonville Jaguars introduced new uniforms for the 2013 NFL season at an event this afternoon. As expected (and partially leaked last month), the Nike-produced uniforms feature a number of cutting edge elements.
Most notable is the helmet, which is gold in the rear and fades to black in the front. It’s a revolutionary look that has never been attempted (some would say for good reason) in the NFL.
The new Jaguars jerseys — black at home, white on the road and teal as an alternate — feature a shoulder pattern that gives off a bit of an armor vibe. Over each player’s heart is a military-esque JAGS patch.
Though the Jaguars’ last uniforms almost completely eliminated teal, the much-maligned color is back and plays a prominent (though certainly not primary) role in these new uniforms.
