Update 03/27/12: As commenter greensheen pointed out below, the new logo has now been confirmed. It appeared onscreen during NFL Network’s “State of the Franchise” segment last evening. Gray is definitely present and it also appears that the blue in the logo is a lighter shade than the blue in the current Seahawks logo. Take a look:
Original article:
An eagle-eyed Facebook user spotted what appears to be a leak of the new Seattle Seahawks logo. The changes are minor, but they are present nonetheless.
Users can vote for the Madden 13 cover boy on SportsNation’s Facebook page. On that page is an image of Seahawks safety Earl Thomas. He’s wearing the old Seahawks uniform (the Seahawks are getting new, Nike-designed uniforms in 2012), but his helmet appears to feature a new version of the team’s logo. The new logo looks almost identical to the team’s current logo, but there is a key difference. You have to look really closely, but the difference is there. Take a look and see if you can spot it:
The “Seahawk blue” part of the logo (the lighter blue that made up the bottom stripe in the logo) is now gray. Here are the two logos next to each other for comparison (the new logo is just a mock-up, so the shade of gray may not be exactly correct):
The addition of gray fits with the rumors of what we’ll see in the new Seahawks uniforms when they are unveiled on April 3rd. Allegedly, the team is eliminating the shade of blue that is featured prominently on their current uniforms and going with a new color scheme of navy blue, lime green and gray.
Based on the most recent rumors, the Seahawks will take the field next season in navy blue helmets. They will wear navy blue jerseys with gray numbers outlined in green in home. On the road, they will wear white jerseys with navy blue numbers outlined in green. They will also have a gray alternate jersey featuring navy blue numbers outlined in green (interestingly, the lime green alternate jersey appears to be dead for good). The Seahawks’ new uniforms are rumored to have both gray pants and navy blue pants, both with green trim. Expect the team to mix and match their pants and jerseys.

The official one from EA has the logo looking the exact same color and style. Also, Nike is changing the Panthers jerseys and they have the new logo on the bottom and the old logo. I am all for changing the seahawk blue to charcoal gray, but I need more proof before I believe it.
I don’t buy it. i have noticed several times over the past few years that the lower shade of blue can sometimes look as if it is grey. From time to time, the color is rendered badly when reproduced and appears much duller and sometimes can even have a sheen to it. that creates even a stronger look of grey. Like I said… I don’t buy it.
If that is a leak, it’s not a good one. Why would you show a gray altered logo then have thecurrent uniform on Thomas? Where is the feather trim? Where are the gray numbers with lime trim on the uniform? Exactly it’s a mistake. I have only heard of them darkening the Seahawks blue… Not getting rid of it.
Good try but the gray is not showing up.
Nfl network showed the same logo with the gray bottom part on its segment for state of the franchise for seattle
I really hope that isn’t the change. The gray is much less appealing.
