What XFL-Style Nickname Would NFL Stars Put On Their Jerseys?

I attended the unveiling of the new Nike NFL jerseys in New York City. At the event, I asked a bunch of NFL stars, including Larry Fitzgerald and Ray Rice, what XFL-style nickname they would put on the back of their jersey if they could (or had to). For those who don’t remember, the XFL was a short-lived pro football league founded by Vince McMahon that allowed players to put nicknames (such as “He Hate Me”) on their jerseys instead of their last names.

Some of the NFL players I talked to had interesting answers for the question. A few had obvious answers. One player had a really hard time settling on just one nickname. Take a look:

For those who don’t want to watch the video, these are the players and their answers:

  • Ndamukong Suh – “Teddy Bear”
  • Dwayne Bowe – “The Show”
  • Rashean Mathis – “Showtime”
  • Kam Chancellor – “Bam Bam”
  • Jermichael Finley – “YOTTO”
  • Larry Fitzgerald – “Fitz”
  • Justin Blalock – “Big Bank”
  • Ray Rice – “Ray Rizzle”
  • Champ Bailey – “Champ”
  • LeGarrette Blount – “B Train” or “Life’s Good” or “Locomotive” or “X Factor”
